ABOUT THE CAMP

Mission
Fridge Door Live Theatre Camp Builds Confidence, Develops Competence and Encourages Collaboration through the imaginative process of a performing arts experience.

"Imagination Brought To Life"

Values
Fun: Participants will naturally experience and achieve confidence, competence and the result of collaboration in a fun learning environment.

Designed With Excellence: The experience of a theatre camp will be increased when it is designed with excellence.

Community Targeted: Our desire is to invest into children and youth in our community.

Invest Into Others: Theatre Camp is designed to also develop leaders, particularly through the student internship program.

Christian Foundation: We are all created by God and in working together, we will value and respect each other accordingly.

Program
Created in the Summer of 2006, the camp has more than doubled in size, bringing to life the imaginations of 70 youth each year.

Children and youth with an interest in the performing arts will be involved in a variety of theatre activity while working together as a team to prepare a final production that will be presented before a live audience of family and friends. Along with the fun of meeting new friends, each participant discovers and builds confidence, develops competence and is encouraged in collaboration.

Each year, the camp has benefited from hiring a student intern with prior experience in the performing arts.
2006, Jessica Edwards, a graduate of UWO and Althouse Teacher's College.
2007, Susan Edmonds, a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier and Althouse Teacher's College
2008, Sylvia Martens, a student of UWO. Melissa Mackie, a senior student of Saunders Secondary School.

COMMENTS

It was my pleasure to witness the wonderful play that the youth and the staff have put together. The feedback from the youth and their families are very positive. I would like to thank you and your crew for making this a memorable experience. (Christine Li, Youth Outreach Worker, Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre)

I had the time of my life at camp this year. I think it was the best! Thank-you so much for making it happen!
