THEATRECAMP 2008 STAFF

2008 DIRECTOR

Len Cuthbert is a staff member at Byron Community Church and creator of FridgeDoorLive! He has been combining Theatre with children and youth for almost 20 years. Among his theatre experiences, Len has had various plays produced and published, his latest being produced at a play festival at the Sixth Street Theatre in Racine, Wisconsin.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, MUSIC

Sylvia Martens is a student at The University of Western Ontario. Sylvia has performed in several productions including playing Queen Gertrude in The Three Musketeers in 2007 and will be appearing in Twicken's Book at the Arts Project, May 21-24, 2008. In music, she has experience in Jazz, Band and Choir and with ten years of voice lessons, has completed Royal Conservatory Grade 8 Vocal Music.

ASSISTANT, CHOREOGRAPHY

Melissa Mackie is a senior student at Saunders Secondary School. She has been involved in several roles in various plays at the church, school and camp. She recently choreographed and performed in a rap as well as acted in the 2007 Christmas Dinner Theatre production at Byron. Melissa assisted in the first Theatre Camp in 2006 on the technical side and returns this year to assist leading as well as bringing her choreography talents to the team during the first 3 weeks of camp.

ASSISTANT

Andrew Dow is a staff member at Byron Community Church and gives leadership to the youth ministry. Andrew has been involved in leading many different kinds of camps including Director of a camp in Lloydminster, SK.

JUNE 30 - JULY 4
Grade 3-5

Rick Adam's love for and involvement in acting begins back in grade school. He has acted and sung in musicals at Byron, the most recent being the 2007 Christmas Dinner Theatre production. Rick's involvement at Byron Community Church includes leading a worship team and chairman of the leadership board. Rick returns after assisting with the Gr. 3-5 2007 Theatre Camp.

 

Deborah Maxwell is a Grade 11 student at Georgian Bay Secondary School in Meaford, Ontario. She's been involved in drama, choir and school arts night. Deb returns for her third year after being an assistant at TheatreCamp 2006 & 2007.

JULY 7- 11
Grade 4-6

Robyn Mann is a Grade 10 student at Strathroy District Collegiate Institute. She's been involved in theatre productions at school and at Byron Community Church. Robyn returns after assisting with the Gr. 6-8 2007 Theatre Camp.

JULY 14 - JULY 18
Grade 6-8

Keely Kwok resides in Dubai, UAE, and will be attending UWO this September. Keely was involved in plays directed by Len Cuthbert in 1999 & 2000. Also in 1999, she acted in The King & I at Theatre Aquarius in Hamilton, ON. Since then, she has performed in many school plays including, Marriage of Figaro, Gasping, The Merry Wives Of Windsor and an adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. Keely returns after assisting with the Gr. 6-8 2007 Theatre Camp.

 

JULY 21 - JULY 25
Grade 7-10

Kristy Janzen was a staff member at Youth For Christ London and is regularly involved in Theatre at Forest City Community Church. Kristy will be assisting during week four of the camp.
